Suffolk County Police Rescue Boater Stuck In Ice
Tuesday January 23, 2024 Shirley, N.Y:
SCPD Marine Bureau and Aviation Bureau responded Tuesday afternoon after a 9-1-1 caller reported a boater who became stuck in/on the ice on Bellport Bay, just west of the Smith Point Bridge. SCPD Marine Unit "Mike" was able to gain access to the boater and tow him to open water.

Tuesday August 15, 2023 Mastic Beach, N.Y.: Early morning house fire on Pineway Avenue, near Claremont Drive. The house was fully engulfed and sections of the dwelling collapsed. SCPD 7th Pct., Brookhaven Fire Dept. and numerous local fire and EMS departments operated at the scene. No reported injuries at this time.

Very interesting method of attack, with some even more interesting brush rigs. You don't see this out west. There also seems to be quite a surplus of manpower but I guess that just boils down to how populated the East Coast is. Good video.

Why did it take so long. I’ve belonged to family of firefighters. And this should not have happened. They are NOT trained properly out here in Suffolk.
Actually, they train quite extensively in Suffolk. A lot of factors go in to these types of fire. What type of construction (balloon framing/common cockloft)? How advanced was the fire before 9-1-1 was notified? Working smoke detectors/alarm system? Time of day (most people are not home during school/working hours). Weather? Cold/winter time, people rarely venture out.

Yes...although it seems extremely improbable, three cars sitting next to each other suddenly burst into flames simultaneously. The owners of all three cars then subsequently bought lottery tickets.
